What a Great Album filled with melodies, 80s elements, passion from a great
Spanish Metal band and a great vocalist.
it is good to see that some labels keep remind us that metal exists in languages
other than English and are not afraid to produce the albums of great bands with
non-english vocals. The metal scene has some interesting bands in countries
such as Greece, italy, Germany,
Scandinavian Countries, and definitely in Spain.
This album
comes to you through a high quality metal label Karthago Records. And as the
rest of the bands this label has under its management this one is also a great
metal band. I did not found adequate information about the ZARPA,,only some
basic information.
The band
was formed in 1978, and in 1982 they started playing heavy metal music. They
are considered one of the first (some argue the fist) metal band in Spain. This is
the 6th release of the band. One of their characteristics is the
unique and excellent voice of their vocalist Vicente Feijoo. This is the band
which influenced and shaped the heavy metal scene of Spain.
The album
is called El Yunque Contra el Martillo,
and is in Spanish. It is a pure classic metal old school 80s style music album.
It contains excellent compositions filled with melodies, classic metal riffs,
and nice solos throughout the album
The album
has 18 songs in total (WOW) 15 songs +3 Bonus Track from the band’s live
recordings in France.
The vocalist of the band Vicente Feijoo
creates a unique Atmosphere in the CD its voice is just excellent and blends perfectly
with the music of ZARPA .
In the Highlights of the Album is definitely the majestic Un
mundo perfecto en un mundo siniestro,
the beginning song Sin Piedad, which will
satisfy even the most demanding fan of the 80s heavy metal. Tip . for the younger
generation listen to it to get a feeling how metal was
during 80s, feel the passion of the music and that of the vocalist, Go back to
basics and learn how true metal was. La
ultima Batalia is another interesting, dynamic song with epic metal
elements,. The Melodic and Powerful El Yunque Contra El Martillo. Tokyo was another interesting song of the
album with a nice Refrain. Furthermore, we liked a lot the los hijos de la muerte. Finally the dias de ilusion 1ª & dias de ilusion 2ª with some Malmsteen
style soloing. Although the songs above are what we consider the highlights of
this album all the songs are very good and we recommend you to listen all the
album.
Although is
the first time I am listening this band their music and style have motivated me
to search for their older albums and research them a bit. It seems that most of
their albums are very rare. A I am sure this one soon will also be a rare
album, buy the album and support the great band and a great label and definitely
to enrich you album collection.
