Universum- leto destinatus. (8/10) heavy metal reviews
Universum come from Australia and they play a style of metal which they call it melodic death metal. Melodic and  progressive heavy metal with death vocals. The album impressed me with its production and attention to details. With a very good doom artwork and a booklet with lyrics and info. The band is influenced by  bands such as Dark Tranquillity   Im not a fan of death metal vocals, however this band impressed me overall even though I do not like death vocals. The songs transmit a powerful metal  feeling, the guitars are very good and the riffing powerful! The Leto Destinatus contains 13 songs all well played and with attention to details   The song disconnected includes something which I first listened to metal music a kind of death vocal duet!!! Really made the song more interesting The lead guitar is very good, really fills the songs and gives them an extra push.   I Liked, the instrumental song, solitude. Reveals the qualities of the guitarist, melodic and very interesting. The invisible scars song. proves that the band can perform even better with a combination of clean and death vocals (give it a try), its an effect which I truly support.   War of ages is another interesting song, melodic, with great lead and a melodic  backing guitar riff and also the combination at the chorus of clean with death vocals. Deserves your attention.. one of the highlights of the album     Overall Universum produced a very good album with a good production and excellent artwork, filled with melodic death metal guitars, combination of clean and death vocals  (in some songs). well played,  and with attention to details. I believe the band should have added some more clean vocals but that just me. Death metallers check them out. They deserve it 8/10
