Soulsteeler
are a melodic power metal band from Belgium. The band was created in
2001 and since then they have released 2 demos and one mini CD. We were honored
that we have received this 1000 copy cd which was produced by the band at the
hype studios.
About the
Album: This is a five song album (included a prelude), the album is called “In A Glow Of Crimson Red" which was released in june 2007. most of the songs are 6 + minutes. Although Soulsteeler
are an independent band the package is very good it contains a booklet with
lyrics and information (good point guys).
this was an
interesting album, which reveals the potential of the band. We liked the album
and we believe that soulsteeler can produce and play much more better music. All
songs have the features of melodic and power metal, with nice metal melodic
riffs.
The opening
song “break down the wall” has an interesting intro with shows the
creativity of the guitarist. The same song has also a very good riff. The second
song” somniphovia” is a power song with 80s metal style guitars. The 4th
song “ Crimson Red” is the best song of the album – dynamic intro,
creative riffs, melodic and dynamic. At a
point at the middle stages of the song the keyboards blend very good to create
a very good metal feeling. The final song “
destiny’s at hand” continues at the same pace as the rest of the songs
however it has an interesting guitar solo which worth’s listening to.
The
production of the mini cd was not very good however. We believe the band should have paid more
attention to details of the production. For
example the drums and and the vocalist are not heard very good and in some
points of the album you get the feeling that they could have created a better
productions.
Soulsteeler
have a long way to go, they have the talent, they have the passion and they can
produce better. They have a future in the metal scene as long as they pay
attention to details
