hello again, after a few months of being away and a change in the
management of the website we are back on track now. one of the first
reviews in this new series or metal reviews is the one of sinister
realm , this self titled album has reminded me of old good times. one
of the albums which i really enjoed listening to. not only is has the
passion and power and melody of the 80s but is filled with a doom
atmosphere. the band influences are clear from start, Sabbath, Dio,
Maiden, and Priest but also some of the doom metal gods such as
candlemass.. this album was released in Aug 2009. and it contains 9
songs. it comes with a good production including a booklet. the album
was released under shadow kingdom records. now lets get back to the
music. this album really has everything that i seek in a metal album.
its melodic, great riffing, melodic solos,a real metal vocalist and a
kickin ass bass (check the enter sinister realm song). the power and
the metal feeling are everywhere. just check the song Enter the
sinister Realm. that will tell you everything you need to know about
the band. i liked what i listened, and im sure this band will become
very popular amond the metal movement. they play a true heavy metal.
the album begins with a real metal thunder, the oracle, a great song
with some epic features!!! hail to Metal. the riffs and the melodic
guitars and the background screaming start the journey of this album.
continued by the machine god, again melodic catchy , the dio
and Sabbath influences are pretty obvious here ! one of the best
moments of the album - the closing of this song again reveals the EPIC
metal view of this band. the 3rd song the demon seed again
starts dynamically with a well played riff (liked the bass in the intro
see) talks about across the sea, dessert lands etc - The chorus is all
the money in this song check it out!!! moving to the 4th song message from beyond shows
the doom side of the band, again nice riffs, melodic, doom and 80s
metal all over and with a nice acoustic part on it after the 3rd
minute with marching etc doom and epic. the 5th song March of the Damned followes the footsteps of the previous songs. the 6th song the NIHILIST starts with a modern metal riff, followed the the mongol horde
another good song, liked the riff! now for the 8th song (instrumental)
for me is simply the best moment of the album. wild guitar soloing, a
kickin ass bass , the interesting part is the part where the two
guitars play the intro solo together, this instrumental shows the
capabilities of sinister realm. and its the parts where the musicians
show how excellent they are, check it out. the closing song of the
album is the circle is broken. doom and heavy combined!!
i liked the record , so check it out.
