Seventh
Seal were formed in 1996 they used to play heavy metal with Italian lyrics. The
bands music has influences from the NWOBHM especially iron maiden and
also many power metal elements such as Helloween and Gamma ray. After recording
two albums and demos The band changed its lyrics to English and recorded
an album which received very good reviews the Black Dragon. This is the
second (enlgish) album of the band.
This album (The
Sacred Test) is An album filled with the spirit of heavy, power, and
epic metal. melodic, powerfull, with great vocals ( Female), amazing guitars, creative
and melodic solos, Great intros to the songs, and an excellent production supported by one of
metal’s greatest labels mygraveyard productions!!!! Our compliments to the
artist of the artwork of the album Chiara. Its great to realize that still some
bands exist which can learn from the 80s metal music and they use it to build
the metal scene of the 21st century. The seventh seal are one of those. This band
has the virtues of good musicians and they seem to enjoy what they are doing.
The
majestic opening song The sacred test is what this band is all
about. A great opening song which prepares the listener to what it will
follow!! This song is epical, majestic, great melodies and riffs (especially
the chorus) well done!!!!
The second
song Lucifer's Cry reveals an epical side of the band. This 8.3 minute
song is one of the highlights of the album. The influence the band has from Halloween
and gamma ray are very obvious here!!! The End of the Day great rhythm here with a
very melodic chorus. a pure power metal song – we liked the pauses and
alternation around the 4th
minute and the creative solo!!!! The next song A fire of Destruction has an
excellent Epical Opening (hail to Epic Metal)
the marching feeling continues throughout the song
Around the
middle of the album and after receiving the first tornado of great metal from the first 5 songs a ballad comes I am free. Even though this ballad is
not one of the best I ever heard it serves its purposes. It relaxes the
listener and prepares for the second half of the album. As soon as the ballad is over a power and fast metal
song starts the seventh seal. Followed by the prisoner
a song which has some progressive metal elements I must say (and this
one however perfect as the rest). after the prisoner an unforgettable epical hymn begins the A
Wind From The West an epic metal
song which does not need any additional comments – I can say its on my playlist
and will be for quite sometimes –
The
highlights of the album are the sacred
test, lucifers cry and the epical
a wind from the west.Well
sorry for the long review but this band deserves credit for their music. Do
your selves a favor and buy the album – you support a great band and a great
label!
