An all star line up of finish metal bands, the Northern Kings – in their album Reborn they rearranged popular songs of the 80s with the touch of
the finish metal scene and they really
did it very well. The group consists of four top vocalists from popular metal
bands, Marco Hitetal (Nightwish. Tarot)
Tony Kakko (Sonata Artica), JP Leppaluoto (Charon) and J. Ahola
(Terasbetoni) (Dream Team of Finish Metal!!)
Not only they have rearranged in an excellent and unique way
the songs, but they have adopted they
their own style to them. A major mistake many bands which rearrange songs is
that they play the songs as the originals. This is definitely not the case with
Northern Kings. They have added power metal and finish metal characteristics to
the songs and of course each vocalists its own distinctive touch. Those in
combination with the symphonic orchestral and a perfect production and
packaging created an unforgettable album
The album was initially released in Finland in 2007 and following the enormous popularity
it will be released in UK in 16th of June 2008. Furthermore
the single of the album we don’t need
another hero will be released as a
digital download and limited edition cd single
Another point we really liked from this album is the fact
that the band did not include only rock songs but they have rearranged and pop
songs and hits such the Lionel Richies Hello.
Reborn" include legendary songs
such as "We Don't Need Another Hero" by Tina Turner, "I
Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" by Cutting Crew, "In The Air
Tonight" by Phil Collins, "Brothers In Arms" by Dire Straits and
"Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel
My favourite from this album was the in the air tonight
,(even though the songs are great that
stick to my mind)
This is an album which will also attract non metal fans to
metal music, for instance, if you have
friends who like the original song hello
– ask them to listen the cover of hello from northern kings, it is the best way
to introduce them to heavy metal!!!!
This is a unique and a great album and I will recommend it
to all of you… go buy the album I guarantee you it will be on your cd player
for a long time it is symphonic and epical it is heavy metal…. . and also do your selves a favour and buy also
the originals (9/10)
