Another Swedish
melodic metal band, this is the 4th album of the power and doom
metallers Memory Gardens. It took them 8 years, but
finally they did it and released a new album with a memorable production (Mike
Wead). Up to now Memory Garden Released 3 more albums, their debut album tides, in 1998 the album verdict
of posterity and mirage in 2000.
.
The fourth
album Carnage Carnival is released
under VIC Records – a label which the band found support after they left metal
blade.
This band
even though they are called power and doom metal style, I personally believe
their style fits to progressive metal/power and less than in the doom style
(p.s I did not listen to their previous
albums so I cannot judge their previous style(.
You can
understand what I mean by their guitar styles and also the tempo and the tricks
they use in their songs… their songs yes include a doomish parts and doomish
riffs and tempo but the overall is a pure metal atmosphere with clean vocals,
nice lead and rhythm guitars and lots of power.
The album
is called carnage carnival and it contains 10 songs.. and the first pressing
comes with a DVD as extra bonus which deserves checking at
Overall, a
very good album accompanied by great production. The album is characterized by
progressive and power metal styles with some touches of doom!! Certainly you should check on it!!!
