Band Highlights
from the bands website errang! The staff at Germany’s Heavy magazine voted them one of 2007’s best unsigned bands and metalexpressradio.com said their 2007 debut, Episode One, “could have easily been sandwiched between Queensr˙che’s The Warning and Saxon’s Innocence Is No Excuse.” Their music has garnered the attention of international publications and webzines such as Metal to Infinity, Metal Invader, Sacred Metal, Hard Rocker, Metal Temple and Metal2Metal, all of whom put the band on par with the likes of Iron Maiden, Fates Warning, Dream Theater and Kamelot. Here's what people are already saying: "...a must-buy for every fan of classic heavy metal." Themistoklis Moysidis @ www.metal-invader.com "'Glass World' justifies the term Progressive in all its grandeur..." Dimitris K. @ www.metal-temple.com “It is astonishing how sovereignly and professionally the vassals around lead singer Glenn DaGrossa follow in the tracks of the NWOBHM without sounding like a clone even for one second.” Metal Crusade - Vol. XV "this band is going to emerge from the masses.” www.metaltoinfinity.tk “…the six-track Episode One is a feast for the ears…” Heavy – Dungeon of Steel "…they play a style of music that would have fit perfectly into the NWOBHM at its peak…" www.powermetal.de "This is metal/rock for a big audience if you ask me…" www.mariosmetalmania.com "Their music is NWOBHM-nostalgic without feeling outdated: these guys are way too good to lack a record deal..." www.metal-observer.com Led by vocalist Glenn DaGrossa, LAZARUS is the New York-based power metal band that burst onto the scene in 2007 with Episode One, a self-financed, independently released, six-song CD that muscled its way into the upper echelon of metal’s hierarchy on the sole merits of song craftsmanship and musicianship. Comprised of veteran musicians with deep pedigree, LAZARUS also includes guitarists Artie Dillon and Joe Todaro, bassist Freddy Villano and drummer Nick D’Alessandro. Over the last year and a half, LAZARUS has developed into a heavyweight contender on the live circuit and is now one of the most popular direct-support bands for national acts in the Northeast. Kamelot, Winger, Symphony X, MSG, Dokken, Finntroll, Firehouse, Zebra, The Almighty, Crimson Glory, King Diamond, Fates Warning and Twisted Sister are just a few of the bands LAZARUS has had the privilege of sharing the stage with. LAZARUS has risen. In the words of Jeremy Juliano at metalexpressradio.com: “Consider this your precursor to the next chapter of metal,” LAZARUS “is the real deal.”

Lazarus - episode one - metal review (9/10)
Ok this is the story,  a cousin of mine (metaller also) borrowed my car,  within 10 minutes he called me on my cell phone and said  (what is the name of the band which you have in your car cd player).. he liked them a lot, he told me that they sound like iron maiden and that they are very melodic and then i understood that i had a hidden gem there... you get the feeling of the album with the powerful opening of the  song wings of avalon.. it was Lazarus and their album episode one. a true heavy metal and  Epic Album, with a metal feeling all over it, Melodic, full of power, Great Metal Riff (hail to the rhythum guitars) , melodic solos and a great vocalist (Bruce Dickinson style! Hail Hail Hail). one of the reasons we created epicmetal.net is for bands such as Lazarus to be known to the world... we were a bit late in adding this review but better late than never. . now lets get back to this recording. the EP its called episode one. and it contains,  6 songs all excellent compositions and well played. the rhythm guitars and the vocalist are Excellent!!  Lazarus really did a great job in this album/EP. 80s metal, Iron Maiden style with a touch of progressive metal - The influence its pretty obvious but with a positive way. the fans of the 80s metal gods will be satisfied with this recording. here let me say Hail to the Vocalist. he really transmits a metal feeling which i rarely see in new bands. production is good, what they can improve - i believe is to their solos they need some more melody and creativity... however every guitarist has its own style. and I'm sure Lazarus guitarists implemented their own styles.! nothing else. they manage to transmit a metal power, the album is something you will enjoy listening and of courserecommended by me. i have no doubt that this band with the right  management and promotion we will see them grow.. i also believe that in European countries such as Greece, Italy and Germany will have better chances. next thing i will do is to investigate them a bit to see if i can find any demos of them and see their progress., and to close this review, guys you are missing a BALLAD!! (even though, some songs have some ballad intros)! im sure this band can and will add a metal  ballad to their next release of which i will have high expectations!!!
