Karthago Records
Karthago Records in a true metal label supporting and promoting True Metal  bands. below is their history  the history of Karthago Records:   1989 the shop (still not the label) was founded (and still not named "Karthago Records"), specialised in rare Heavy Metal-records (LPs/vinyl) worldwide after being a fan for Hard Rock/Heavy Metal since 1983. Every 3 months a new selling-list was made.   1992 buildt up and stabilised contacts to Metal-fans in North-, South and middle-America, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and many eastern european countries made it possible to send a monthly newsletter of new arrived Metal-rarities to the customers.   1993 also CDs were taken in the catalogue to enlarge the programme.   1995 the first book was written from a friend and me about Heavy Metal in Osteuropa (Eastern Europe, written in german language). The edition was only 500 copies. It was sold out in 1996.   1997 after record-hunting-trips to more than 20 countries in Europe the books Heavy Metal in Westeuropa and Heavy Metal in Südeuropa (Western and Southern Europe) were written under help from some journalists from magazines. The first edition was sold out 2 months after release. The second edition was sold inbetween half a year. According to computer problems (which were not professional at that times) the material disappeared and no reeditions from the two books were made since today   2000 The Metal-shop went "online"   2001 The label Karthago Records was founded and the first album LORD VADER - "Goliath" was made on LP and CD in limited edition. From that point each year more releases followed. All were in the traditional 80s Heavy Metal / Hard Rock style. There were made reeditions and new albums.   2003 The book Heavy Metal in Osteuropa was made in a second edition. All was handtyped again, because of the lost original computer-discs also from this book.   2004 the licenses/rights from Gama Records, a German company who made albums like STORMWITCH, NOISEHUNTER, GRAVESTONE, SDI, STRANGER, NECRONOMICON etc. were bought and rereleases of the albums followed up very soon. A distribution-deal with Twilight was signed.   2005 the austrian Heavy Metal collectors page www.metalpage.de was bought and put in the Karthago-company to have a platform for reviews, discussions etc.   2006 Some rights of bands music were sold or licensed to Mexiko, Russia, USA, Greece and Colombia.   2007 Karthago Records online-shop was reanewed with new features like Karthago TV, an easier shopping system etc.   2008 Karthago plans 6 new releases in this year
