Icy steel have
produced a very good epic metal album and they have set up strong foundations
for a great future in the metal industry. There is no doubt that if this band
continues like that they will have an epical place in the epic metal world.
this album took a while to review because we couldn’t get it out the CD player
we listened to it all the time.
this Italian band produced their debut album which was
released in march 2007 under pure steel
records (hail to the best label) if your
are into epic metal then this album should be on your collection., the album contains
9 song + an intro. Their music can be characterized as epic metal with doom
metal elements.
all the songs have the characteristics of epic metal. epical
riffs, melodic solos, lyrics about dragons , swords and battles, some songs are
fast some slow some are both
the intro riding into
battle serves its purpose very well. it is an instrumental hymn which
prepares you from what it will follow, immediately after the Me, River starts in a slow rhythm and a
nice intro guitar solo, (liked the 2 guitars solo they are using. suddenly the song
becomes heavier with a killing riff. The man without end, storms in with a dynamic epical way faster than the previous song, but
epic metal as hell. At the end a storm begins which introduced the listener to
the Spatian Dynasty a song which follows the structure of
the previous songs. The Wind of War is a ballad which is high listed on my playlist.
This ballad relaxes you from the first 3 songs. Immediately, after the Valley of the Dragon begins (good Bass in the
intro guys). Probably the best song of the album.. listen to it you will
understand what I mean. Followed by another ballad, The secret of Rune. The
song I See Steel is another
one of the highlights of the album with nice effects, with the wind blowing,
the songs starts in slow ballad rhythm and a nice solo and then gradually
enters into faster pace. Then here it comes The Corrupted King the best
song of the album. This is a legendary epic metal song which I would recommend everyone
to listen to it. The final song 9 minute “Pandemonic ride” it was the best way to close this album in an
epical and unforgettable way.
I hope all of you found the review useful, now do your selves
a favour and buy the album you support a great band, you support epic metal and
you support a great label the pure steel records label
