Decadence, a a very promising band which worths taking a look at. we asked them for a quick interview and the band replied positively. the intereview is with the front lady of the band the metallic kitty!!!!.
Well I was positively
surprised by this album. Once I have
received the package from massacre –records I decided to listen and review
decadence record first called the 3rd
stage of decay. Immediately with the start of the song Corrossion I realized that this is a very good album. Wild thrash riffing all over the room under the
great vocals of Kitty!
As I was
listening this album I decided to research the band a bit and a number of
things struck in my mind. Firstly is their lead vocalist, she is a lady called
Metallic Kitty!! A female vocalist in a
band and especially a thrash/death metal band is not something we see very often.
Well Kitty did excellent job on the vocals . Well done. Secondly I read that
this is the third album of this band but their first under a label however the
band was already well known in the underground scene (their myspace page has
more then 200,000 friends. Finally I discovered they their live performances are unforgettable – (that made me curious of
seeing them performing live)
.This
Swedish band with a female vocalist (Metallic Kitty), plays a style of music
which can be characterized as melodic thrash/death metal. the Vocalist combines both death metal
vocals together with clean (thrash) vocals in many of the songs (sometimes you get
the feeling that this band has 2 vocalists whilst is actually just one)
The melodic
thrash/metal features of this band are more obvious on the endsong, sculpture, and 3rd stage of decay.
The Guitars
are clearly influenced by Metallica, Megadeth and some progressive metal bands
such as inflames. The two guitarists and the bass player do an excellent job on
this album which is filled with creativity in both their rhythm (thrash riffs)
and their solos – (check the song Invert
and the Endsong)
The
highlight of this album is the 3rd
stage of decay song which show all the capabilities of the songs and their
style, is its melodic, it is thrash , it has some death and thrash vocals, it
has interesting and melodic backing guitars, the riffs throughout the song are
excellent and the blend really well with
the vocals of metallic kitty.. moreover the solo on the theater of the absurd kicks ass!!
Production
is great – I really liked the fact that the vocals are not hidden like a number of thrash and metal bands!!
Overall an excellent album which every metal fan must have
in his collection, so do your selves a favour and buy this album you will add a small jewell to
your collection and you will support a
great band and a great label
