This Promo CD of black raven is an excellent piece of Heavy metal – black raven went back the basics of heavy metal and created a passionate and dynamic album. This Band was really a positive surprise to me and has a bright future in the metal industry – what I still haven’t manage to figure out is why bands such as black-raven still remain unsigned.!!! I have no doubt that this band will soon be added to the list of well known and successful bands from Italy such as domine!! The album – 5 songs all with nice metal raw riffs, dynamic songs, nice vocals and with a very nice artwork to complete the package – all the elements of this album remind me of classic 80s bands!!! All the songs have melodic metal riffs, melodic lead guitars, and refrains which are easy to remember – the soloing is good especially the one to the Riders of the Grave The production of the album is very good – the band distributed their promo with an interesting artwork for a cover - Vocals – the accent of the vocalist is very good unlike like many medditeranean bands where it is very difficult to understand what the vocalist is singing – many bands now specially from italy and Greece have changed that and have vocalists which sing fluent in English!!! The album – Promo CD contains 5 songs. 1) Black Raven – the intro song is very dynamic and one of the hightlights of this album - is a classic metal songs which reminds of the 80s metal bands – with a nice melodic riff and a reftain which will be in your mind for a long time “Black Raven soul of the dark , Black Raven master of the night”’ – 2) Riders of the Grace – Nice soloing gus 3) Live for Metal – Metal intro with motorbikes and screams and metal riffs – liked the rhythm - after the 3rd minute the songs introduces some raw riffs and a high speed rhythm then again it slows down again - and goes even faster at the next step – a song with some thrash elements inside!!!!! Yeaaaaa 4) Soldier of the Night - Starts as a Ballad with a nice melodic riff – and it alternates in high and low with nice lead guitar and riffs – another one of the highlights of the album 5)Since the name of the website is Epic Metal – in every album we review we also try to find its epical elements – this song is the one which has the most epic metal elements – the rhythum feels like troops are marching, the vocals successfully give the msg of the song,. The guitars are epical all the way. At the middle of the song the pace changes completely with a nice BASS (nice to hear that) and a cool solo - closing in an epical way an epical album In Summary – Black raven created a a very good alboum ,what is most important the guys went back to the roots of heavy metal – which is something a number of bands should do – GO BACK TO THE BASICS and DISCOVER TRUE METAL – BLACK RAVEN – DID THAT Well Done Guys – we are waiting for your first label release soon P.S Buy the album – you will support the band and you will enhance your cd/record collection
