Angband - Rising from Apadana (10/10)
Well the metal scene should be proud that in some countries which metal is not allowed  some bands manage to remove the taboos and release a true  metal record. ANDBAND are from IRAN and are a band which worth looking at.  Yes heavy metal has no borders, is everywhere Andband are the proof of that. Hail to this Band and to their Label (Pure Steel Records) who had the courage to sign them and promote them to the world   Angband  were formed in Tehran   by Mahyar Dean as a progressive metal/instrumental project who the creator decided to turned nto a power metal band after he met the vocalists Ashkan with the addition of Ramin Rahimi (drummer)  and M Halaji (Bass) the band was ready to take on the world The album Rising from Apadana)  was recorded in 2007 and in late august  2008 the album was released under pure steel records (germany) -   The riffing and guitars sound such as the old iced earth and Nevermore ERA. However, Angband comes with Epic metal characteristics (still the marching tempo of Before the end of time is in my mind), and a raw sound which remind me the 80s!!!!  the band is also influenced by 80s metal legends(Dio and the Rest) and they instruments and  their compositions reveal how good the musicians they are. Also im sure some of them had classic music education. Which is something you listen in many of the songs.   Now about the album  (Rising from Apadana)  7 songs all with that 80s atmosphere,  with kicking ass guitars riffs and  solos. We were impressed from  some parts which acoustic guitar steps in songs such as the flaming sight song.   Production wise I believe Angband could have done better, however I do not know under which circumstances the album was recorded and where that's why I will not comment the production!   The song I really enjoyed fromt his album was the  flaming sight. Epical , full of power, great guitar especially in the acoustic part. Well done angband  another positive was the Kings Command (instrumental) which proves the quality of the musicians of angband   Well we do not see very oftern a heavy metal band from iran angband released a very good album and is worth checkin it,. Do your selves a favor and support this band, help to bring the barriers of metal down!!! Great album , great band,   Well for a band which works under these circumastes for me are warriors , and they deserve a 10/10.  As for the band – guys we have high expectations of you and we are anxious of your next album!!
