7 thorns Glow of Dawn (8/10)
7thorns. I liked what I heard, Pure power metal from Denmark – Promising Future. Scandinavian countries have the honor of being the home of some of the best power metal bands ever such as Stratovarius. By having bands such as 7thorns I am confident that this tradition will continue and more power metal bands will arise and form the basis of the future power metal. Before I received the package from this interesting Danish band I through that due to their name the album was a death etc metal album. However as soon as I have investigated the band a bit and placed the cd on the cd player I realized that I was wrong. This band has its basis of creation since 1998 and went through a lot these years. Now are determined to produce and play power metal. The influences of the band are from the legends of the 80s power and heavy metallers such as helloween, Gamma Ray, Accept The band by producing this album proved what they are capable of doing. This independent release if a very very good release and I believe the basis for a brighter future of the band. the album production was very good with attention to details, and an excellent and detailed booklet with photos and lyrics All the songs are power metal some are fast and melodic, some ballads. All with melodic and rhythmical riffs, melodic solos, interesting keyboards and effects, the same accounts for the bass drums an of course the voice of the vocalist which matches perfectly with the band music and the whole power metal feeling this album transmit to the audience I would not say more, do your self a favor a buy the album, you support an independent band,, but also you add a very good metal album to your collection of one of the most promising bands of the Danish Heavy Metal Scene 8/10
